Sbeiy
Sbeiy, meaning tomorrow in Kurdish, was established in the spring of 2007 as a Kurdish-language website dedicated to local and international news, with a focus on political, economic and cultural stories. Sbeiy’s innovative website format is intended to give the web-viewer a comprehensive overview of the most up-to-date news, whilst also allowing them to go into each news item in detail. Sbeiy's new editor-in-chief, Nazhad Jalal, has been at the website since its inception and has played a key role in its development since 2007, and he leads a staff of young but experienced writers drawn from various Kurdish media outlets. The website actively reaches out to its audience and encourages them to voice opinions on both its own articles and those drawn from the international press. In this way Sbeiy acts as an open forum for debate where people all over the world can discuss and exchange their ideas – without prejudice or censorship, a first in Kurdistan and Iraq.

Rozhnama
Rozhnama is an independent, Kurdish-language, weekly newspaper which covers a wide range of topics, with a special focus on current affairs. Rozhnama’s mandate is to produce well-researched, in-depth stories and aims to spark debate about social, political and economic issues relevant to its audience. The editor-in-chief, Azad Chalak, works with an enthusiastic team of experienced journalists at Rozhnama and, as a result, since its first run this paper has quickly become one the most-read Kurdish weeklies. The paper enjoys complete editorial independence, which helps to ensure that it can provide its readers with objective and detailed information, which they can then use to form their own opinions.

KNN Channel
Kurdish News Network Channel (KNN Channel) is an international satellite news channel which focuses primarily on national and international current affairs, but also reports extensively on Kurdistan, particularly topics related to politics, the economy, sport, culture and the arts. KNN produces many local-interest programmes, as well as its own documentaries, though it also adapts foreign documentaries and features for Kurdish viewers. The channel broadcasts mainly in Kurdish but also has Arabic-language news and programming on a daily basis. Aram Saeed is the director of KNN Channel and under him he has a staff of over 150 people which includes experienced television journalists, presenters, researchers and technicians. KNN Channel, unlike all other domestic broadcasters in Kurdistan, is an independent station with no affiliation to any political party or interest group, seeking to promote debate whilst remaining above political ties and affiliations. KNN sees itself as being at the forefront of a regional movement towards an open society in which democracy can flourish, providing a uniquely unbiased perspective and a platform for televised debate open to all, regardless of their politics. It is universally acknowledged that an uncensored and objective press is vital to the establishment and maintenance of a free and democratic society, and this is the role that KNN seeks to play in Kurdistan.
